Mikkel - Fedt!
Mordlysten krigsman, rå och hård i hjertat,
Och med ett samvete som helvet rymligt,
Skall rasa fritt med blodbestänkta händer
Och meja edra friska jungfrur af
Och edra fagra spenabarn som gräs

Danke, that one was nice! How big is it?

It would´t be harder to do than a ordinary "skånsk" candleholder! Is it chiseled lines on the big rod in the middle? The legs seems to have it as well.

Wow.. is there four holders? They seem to be quite small, but is here any information about how big it is?

The lines on the stem are chiseled, as well as the lines om the legs.
The whole thing is 45,5 cm tall.
The caretaker of the grounds of Gurre castle, dug it up in his back-yard :)

and the small square thing in the upper left hand corner og the picture is also a candlestick. Made from clay.

So...if its not dug up in a archeological context... how is it dated?

The candlestick was found in an archaeological excavation... Led by the caretaker (skovridder) of the grounds belonging to Gurre castle. The excavation was done in 1835 and not much was recorded. The excavations mainly focused on the architecrure of the castle, and only items of "significanse" were kept. Lots of pottery and other everyday-items were discarded.
A pretty sloppy job, all in all...

The candlestick was given to the danish national museum as a "gift" from the caretaker.

The items were datet to "1200 to 1550"... not wery specific at all...
A propper dating of the candlestick would be anyones quess.

It's a wery pretty candlestick though :|

If you visit the national museum in Copenhagen it is in the excebition. I have a pic of it on my brothers computer but as most pics taken in museums it is not to good.

Alright, that would be a good idea. I have planned going there for quite a while.
