@Peter: Yes We got our lantern from them. It's the only one I currently know making such panels.
@Johan: Obtaining horn panels is not the problem- obtaining _thin_ ones is it.
Of course you can buy those and divide those- but that's exactly what I was talking about when mentioning that it is a pain in the ****

how do youi know how thin they are?

It says they are good for lanterns, but of course there is no way to know until you have them in your hand...

Because someone I know already got one of them They are, as far as I remember, about 4mm thick

Ah. As said, we have a lantern from them; the horn plate is really thin - less then 1mm i think, and gives a good light.
But beware- it's not that stable and the candle should be securely fixed

Right. I guess I'll order plates from them as soon as I get around to it...

Die Rivets are in my opinion definitive for fixing horn panels together.
But the text is really great- it tells us at least that there seem to have been lanterns with blanterns- but tnat those were considered being bad
