Knives of the period.

Postby Steenberg » 31 Oct 2008, 20:25

I am looking to make myself a knife, a simple working knife that is, to wear in the belt or keep in my bag and was wondering if there is a fantastically typical bladetype of the age or if there are types that are a a big no-no? I can of course copy Bockstensmannen's knife and I've thought of doing that but also wanted to hear what you guys who've been at this a little longer have to say? I can of course draw the conclusion that a Khukri or Bowie knife would be to chose the wrong path. :P

Otherwise the blades tend to look more or less like knives in any age but it would be sad to step in the only trap there might be when making one. So, anyone?
